English Auction using JADE

I am new to JADE and I want to implement an English Auction using JADE.
Looking through the examples provided with JADE, I thought the
protocols/example one will be a good start. The two questions I have are:

1. I can run the ProtocolTest example. I executed "java jade.Boot
examples.protocols.ProtocolTester receiver1 receiver2 receiver3" from the
command line but it doesn't work. All I get is Jade is ready but message
exchange. By the way, I am running win 2k and I managed other examples like
ThanksAgent and Party.

2. Is the protocol is the best example for me to use as a starting point
for the English auction?

I really appreciate your feedback since I need to finish this project as
soon as possible.
