Bellifemine Fabio has recommended me to forward my problems in JADE to
you.(My problems are in the 2nd part on this email.)

PART 1:
I was given some short answers(but can you please elaborate?):

- JADE is OS-independent and I think your incompatibility cases are due to
uncorrect usage or wrong commands(What commands should I use?).

- JADE is a middleware 100% in Java. You can use any development tool which
is Java-compatible(How to execute and set the correct classpath?)

- You can change the source under the restrictions of the license that you
have got, which in your case is LGPL.(What do you mean by this
restriction-LGPL?)

PART 2:
Im currently using JADE 2.5 to do R&D on my company's logistic control
integration project. I'd gone through the administrative tutorials for
beginners on the on-line document JADE website. In tutorial 4 where it
teaches about inter-platform commnication using HTTP MTP, I encountered that
platform of OS Windows 2000 Advanced Server can send messages to and fro
another platform of Windows 2000 Professional Edition. But when I tried
sending messages from a platform of Windows 2000 PE to a platform Windows
98, the Windows 98 host can receive messages whereas when I send messages
from a Win98 host to the Win2000 host, the Win2000 host does not receive the
messages at all. Does that mean that different OS cannot add remote
platforms and communicate? Or what kind of command line can I use to run
instead of the calling the runjadehttp.bat? Please tell me how to solve this
problem.

I also encountered that 2 platforms of both Win2000 can add its remote
platform address using HTTP MTP. But 2 platforms of both Win98 cannot do so,
nor can they add remote platforms of another win2000 hosts. Why is that so?
Isnt the inter platform communication suppose to work regardless of OS? What
can I do to rectify this problem?

Can I also ask as to what kind of software devlopment tools can i use to
develop JADE applications? I tried using jPadPro and forte but as I compile
and tried to execute it failed to do so. I can only use the command line and
boot to execute from DOS. If I change some classes, how and where can I
recompile everyting in the JADE directory in order to test the changes I'd
made?

Your immediate response to my queries will be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

Sincerely yours,
Michelle
